Renovating your kitchen will add enjoyment and value to your home. Here are a few steps to consider when you're updating your kitchen.

Practicality
If you have a good kitchen layout, keep it. Don't move the basin, stove or windows around, this will add substantially to the cost. However, if
a previous design flaw was the reason for the renovation, then correct it, and consider consulting a professional, so the same mistake is not made twice.

Use Quality materials
Buy the best you can afford. No sense in spending a packet now, only to be redoing your kitchen again.
Quality drawer slides and hinges mean cupboard doors will stay closed and drawers won't stick. Stay away from drawers that are stapled together or made of
particleboard. For cupboard interiors, wood veneer is more durable than MDF, melamine or laminate wood.

High ceilings and kitchen cupboards
If you have high ceilings, choose kitchen cupboards that go all they way to the ceiling. They offer far more storage, and will enable you to use the extra wall space for open shelving or even artwork.
